Pioneer Woman Boarding House
To get the full ‘Pioneer Woman’ experience we recommend staying in her boarding house. The decor and customer service can’t be beat! We so enjoyed the vibes in the Butterfly room and the complimentary fresh desserts and coffee delivered to your room every morning and night. Outside of being adorably decorated with each room having a different theme, an additional perk is that you can get room service with food from the Mercantile delivered straight to your doorstep. Given the boarding house books up far in advance we recommend booking as soon as you are able.
Things to Do
Explore downtown Pawhuska Oklahoma including the Pioneer Woman Mercantile and Pioneer Woman Collection store.
Explore the Pioneer Woman Lodge where all her food network shows are filmed. The tour includes the kitchen, pantry, bedrooms and terrace. You can even poke inside the pantry and kitchen drawers to see her utensils.
Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve - The 3,700-acre wildlife preserve is home to more than 30 varieties of native and exotic animals and birds and was created by Frank Phillips, the founder of the Phillips petroleum company. Enjoy the animals, Western art and heritage museum that is over 50,000 square feet full of collectibles and art, and Phillips family country lodge.
Joseph H. Williams Tall Grass Prairie Preserve - This preserve is the largest protected area of tallgrass prairie in the world, spanning 40,000 acres. Enjoy the scenic drive throughout the preserve (50 miles), drive through the bison unit to see bison grazing, and stop by the visitors center to learn more about the local ecosystem. The herd of bison is one of the largest privately owned in the country including over 2,100 American bison.
Tulsa Botanical Gardens - Wander the circular path to view a variety of sculptures, beautiful flower beds, and some interactive features. One of our favorites was the children discovery center garden and the floral terraces.
